Side Effects is a mind-bending puzzle game where every decision comes at a cost. You play as a fragile mind balancing sanity and survival, navigating the unpredictable consequences of powerful pills and cascading side effects. Every level is a test of logic, foresight, and inner resilience. Mix medications to stabilize your mental state—but every cure triggers a new complication. Will you risk clarity for control?
At its core, Side Effects is a tile-based puzzle game built around spatial reasoning and color logic. Each tile contains a central color and up to four “side effects”—colored arms that radiate outward in the cardinal directions (up, down, left, and right).
When you place a tile on the grid, its side effects interact with adjacent spaces. These interactions must follow specific color-matching rules. To complete each level, you must fill the entire grid without breaking these constraints. As puzzles become more intricate, strategic planning and experimentation become essential to success.
